Questions we hear most
How do I know a plumber is licensed?
Ask for the license number and look it up on the state licensing board's site. Ours is in the footer of every page, with the lookup link beside it.
What pressure should my house have?
Most fixtures work well between 40 and 80 psi, and most plumbing codes set 80 as the top.
What should I do if a pipe is spraying?
Shut the main valve first. It is usually where the water line enters the house, often near the water heater.
What does a visit cost and what does it include?
We give you the visit fee on the phone before anyone drives out. It covers the readings, a check of the hardware and a written work order.
Do nights and weekends cost more?
We take calls Monday to Saturday, in the hours shown, and don't take after-hours calls.
Will I get a price before you start?
Yes, in writing, after the diagnosis and before any work.
How long does a visit take?
Most pressure checks take about an hour.
Do you pull permits?
Where the city or county requires one, yes. The permit number goes on your work order.
Repair or replace a water heater?
The diagnosis decides. A thermostat, an element or sediment is a repair. A leaking seam is a replacement.
Is it a main-line problem?
Sometimes. A reading at the hose bib and one further along the line tells us where the pressure is lost.
Is my house at risk for lead, galvanized or polybutylene pipe?
Houses built before 1986 may have lead solder at copper joints; many from the 1940s to the 1960s have galvanized steel; polybutylene was used into the early 1990s. We say what we see at the visit; the EPA's guidance on testing your water is the place to start for lead.
What does a camera or a gauge show?
A gauge shows pressure at one point, quiet and running. We use it to find where the pressure is lost, not to look inside a pipe.
Is there a warranty?
Terms for parts and labor are written on your estimate. Ask us to read them to you before you sign.
Where do you work, and when?
Weber County and the edges of Davis and Morgan, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.
